What is PRP?
PRP stands for "Platelet Rich Plasma." Platelet rich plasma is created when your blood cells are separated from their natural platelets. Your platelets harbor several benefits, including their ability to repair skin injuries. Because of this, the platelets can stimulate collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, which all work to replace damaged skin cells.
When platelets are injected into your skin, they can help you overcome acne, wrinkles, scars, and dull complexion. Over time, the platelets induce collagen production, which creates vibrant- and youthful-looking skin.
Why is it Called the Plasma Rich Facelift?
While "Plasma Rich Facelifts" might sound like a scary treatment, they're incredibly safe and effective. Because PRP injections are derived from your blood, the procedure has acquired a rather theatrical name.
Not only are you removing blood from your body and injecting it back into your skin, but you're also improving your skin tone in the process. Both women and men benefit from the rejuvenation that the Plasma Rich Facelift provides. PRP injections are proven to reduce the appearance of acne scars, wrinkles, fine lines, and even dark circles.
How Does the Treatment Work?
The PRP procedure begins with blood extractions from your body (usually from your arm). From there, your PLT Beauty Salon & Spa Miami practitioner will put your blood into a centrifuge, which will separate your blood cells from the platelets. After that, the platelets are injected back into the treatment area using the Eclipse PRP system. The system sends small injections through a tiny needle to ensure a minimally invasive experience and minimal downtime.
The treatment usually takes around 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the intensity of your services. Afterward, the PRP injections will begin to enrich your skin and create that youthful-looking complexion you desire. Mild swelling and redness around the injection site typically occur for one day posttreatment.
How Often Should You Receive PRP?
For the best results, your practitioner may recommend regular PRP facelift procedures. Six treatments over four weeks, as well as bi-annual appointments, will ensure that your skin receives long-lasting rejuvenation. Be sure to talk to your practitioner to find a treatment frequency that works best for you!
